Joni A. Torsella joined the School of Engineering Education in the College of Engineering and Applied Science in July of 2010. She has been teaching Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Cincinnati since September of 2000. Prior to her initial appointment at the University of Cincinnati , she held a position as a statistician at the Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati and at Wyeth Ayerst Laboratories in Philadelphia . She received her Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1991.
In addition to serving in a variety of capacities at the department, college and university level at UC, she has served as a Statistics Reader for the 2008 and 2009 College Board Advanced Placement Statistics Exam. Also, Professor Torsella served as the Equipment and Facilities Coordinator for the Teachers Teaching with Technology Conference held in in April 2009. She received a teaching award in 2004 from the Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning and had two faculty development grants funded in 2010.
